Ahh Tha tha tha tha....

I'm realizing that once I get to Europe, it will be time again to start learning a language. I'm already pretty good at Spanish (besides the fact that I never practice since leaving Spain), so I am considering 1. Continuing Spanish courses OR 2. Beginning Dutch courses OR 3. Both....??

I'm sure after the first month I will need to find something to keep me entertained some evenings so I think I will start with Dutch, and if I find the time take Spanish at the same time.

One of my Dutch friends has advised me that learning Dutch is going to be most difficult since practically everyone there speaks English. So if they see you struggling, they will just switch.

I hope this is not the case! I have a 5 year language plan laid out for myself :) And learning Dutch is supposed to happen in year one and two.

Anyhow, I have a few friends that I know I can practice with if all else fails.

Who knows? Maybe after completing my 5 year language plan I could become a translator? Here is a video that Jose and I have enjoyed for about 2 years now... Even though he is the best English speaking Spaniard I know!!

Places to See and Things to do

So I have come up with a mini list of must-see-in-my-lifetime-places. I would make it a "Things to do before I turn 30" list, but well...

1. Wat Pa Laungta Bua Yannasampanno Forest Monastery - aka The Tiger Temple
~This place looks amazing! (not to mention quite dangerous :) But hey, you only live once right? Check out some of the pictures from their website. What an experience!

2. Preikestolen, Norway - aka Pulpit Rock
~I'm not sure what else there would be to do at this place, but it looks like the experience of a lifetime! Norway is supposed to be a beautiful country, and very outdoorsy..should be a blast!

So that's all I can think of for now...but I am always looking for great places to visit (off the beaten path) so please let me know if you have any cool ones! Also check out Scared Destinations... they have some great ideas.

And it's done....

Well. That happened a lot faster than I thought. Like most things, I became obsessive about getting my website started yesterday. I ended up purchasing the domain and web hosting by around 5:16pm. After that, I sat watching TV and trying to figure out how to build it. What a pain! I thought there would be some easy solution, but there does not seem to be.

Yes, I have found some templates and such online, but I really am looking for a particular style and feel of the site.

I guess it's time to get a book :)

The timing of this all is bad however. Shouldn't I be focused on packing and moving? Getting my Visa perhaps?

I think I have ADD.

Anyways, here is the web address:

A Picture Is Worth a Thousand Words

Hey all!

I'm busy working on my new website!! I guess blogging (or the beginning of it, since this is only post numero dos) has lead me into a new world of things that I can do online. I think it's better to have a new hobby instead of scrap booking, since that seems to have already cost me a small fortune. :-I

Anyhow, I wanted to share the link to my picassa web album, that will in the next month be updated with new pictures of my life in Amsterdam. Right now there are still tons of Italy and Spain pics up, but I will be rotating those out as soon as new ones come in.

It's something to enjoy while I continue to work on my website.... so stay tuned.

Valentines and Visas

Hello!

First and foremost HAPPY VALENTINES DAY! I'm sitting here with one of the people I love the most, Ginger :)

I spent the day with a friend and a had lovely valentines day. I cherish the fact that it was a lazy, ordinary day because I am sure there are not going to be many of these for a few months! This week I start filling out all the paperwork for my work visa to go to Amsterdam, not including the sorting of my personal items to figure out what is going, and what is not.

It's stressful and painstaking but I know that the ending to all this is a happy one, so for that I am very excited!

I promise to keep you updated on where I am in the world, and where I am in this "life process" along the way!

Besitos!
